In this video you can see how to make a cylinder in solidworks using sheet metal features.
Solidworks convert to sheet metal cylinder.
Just add a new sketch on one of the flat end faces of the cylinder.
There is also shroud on bottom end and swage roll in the middle.

The convert to sheet metal command lets you specify the thickness bends and rips necessary to convert a solid part to a sheet metal part.
Converting an imported part to a sheet metal part you can convert any imported sheet metal type part to a solidworks sheet metal part.
To convert a solid part to a sheet metal part.
Enter the material thickness you want.
Select the face and convert entities then extrude 0 01 any number really just less than the width of the seam.
Sketch an open contour arc.
To create a sheet metal part with cylindrical faces.
Then select the fixed face of that extrusion to do your unfold.
Create the solid part.
Select use gauge table.
The base flange propertymanager appears.
Using rip sketches with convert to sheet metal.
Click base flange tab or insert sheet metal base flange.
Click convert to sheet metal sheet metal toolbar or insert sheet metal convert to sheet metal.
In the propertymanager under sheet metal gauges set options if you want to use a gauge table.

Enter a default inside radius for the bends.
The arc can also be tangent to a line.
Single open contours can be used for extrudes revolves sections paths.
Add the cuts fold the part and use the same sketch to cut the extrusion off.
